Yes. If you do not have your own board, surf boards are available to rent for approximately $8 USD per day. (Please note that board rentals are not included in your trip price.)
Yes, of course. Many of our guests are beginner surfers! If you have never surfed, we will teach you all of the basics and get you standing up on waves in no time.
Although our trips cater to all levels of surfers, we split the group based on ability level to ensure that you receive personal instruction.
Yes. For more advanced surfers, Island Vibes provides an excellent guided tour of some awesome surf spots and an opportunity to surf with local professionals in locations that you might not otherwise find on your own. We split the group based on ability level to ensure that you surf the best breaks for your experience level.
7 surf sessions are included in the trip package. If you would like to surf more, you can easily book one of our private surf coaches at any time for approximately $35 USD per 2-hour session.
Yes. Although we assign rooms double occupancy, a private room can be provided at a supplemental cost. Please contact us for details.
No. We assign you in a room with someone of your own gender (unless prior to your trip, you request accommodation with a specific person of the opposite sex).
Surfing is a physically demanding, dynamic sport and it is good prepare by maintaining a regular fitness routine, with particular focus on upper body strength. Getting plenty of sleep and a well-balanced diet will also help you maintain energy needed for surfing.
Yes. All of our hotels have WiFi. WiFi is readily available at most cafes in Bali and Nusa Lembongan.
If you have an unlocked phone, you can easily purchase an Indonesian SIM card with a good internet data package for less than $10 USD once you’re here. You can also check with your cellular service provider to ask about international travel plans that allow you to use data and make calls while abroad.
Yoga is not included in the trip package. However, Bali and Nusa Lembongan are international yoga destinations and there are several awesome yoga studios only short distance from our accommodations. We can help you with recommendations, scheduling and arrangements if you would like to take yoga classes at any time. Just let us know.
Suggestions for your Indonesian surf holiday packing list:
- 2-3 bathing suits
- Lycra or light t-shirt for rash protection
- Flip flops
- Warm-weather clothing
- Light long pants or skirt (for visiting temples)
- Light pullover/long sleeve shirt
- Power converter for Indonesia
- Passport – valid for more than 6 months
- Sunscreen with zinc (SPF 50 or more recommended)
- Travel towel
- Any medication you may need
Be sure you have a valid passport with more than 6 months validity. You need this to be allowed entry into Indonesia. You may be denied entry if your passport is not valid for at least 6 months from the date of your arrival in Indonesia. You will be able to obtain a tourist visa when you arrive at the Bali airport.
Citizens of the US, Canada, Australia and Europe receive a 30-day tourist visa upon entry into Indonesia. Visa extensions of this 30-period may be arranged, but check the Indonesian government rules and regulations regarding extensions before your trip.
Bali and Nusa Lembongan have an extremely low malaria risk, although there may be a risk if you are planning to travel to other Indonesian islands. Travel immunizations are recommended before your trip. Check with your government’s disease control center or ministry for the recommended vaccinations to prepare for your trip to Indonesia.
